No matter what type of paving slabs you intend to buy, it must remembered that the delivery has to be planned and discussed in detail. The amount of the order will often determine the type of vehicle that is used. Approximately eight square metres of new yorkstone weighs a tonne, and if the delivery is by tail offload, the maximum weight allowed on a pallet is one tonne. These pallets have to be manouvered by a pallet trolley which has small wheels which clog on gravel drives so the hauliers require a hard standing area  which they like to be reasonably level. A steep tarmac drive, for example, would still cause problems when handling a trolley jack with a tonne weight. Many drops are in busy urban areas and thought must be given to double yellow lines and any other off-loading restrictions. Someone is expected to be on site to sign for the delivery. If there is no-one on site then the delivery will be returned to the depot and an additional charge made for re-delivery. Timed deliveries i.e. am or pm can  be arranged but do cost a little extra.
